MPHS participating in snow fest in past years
Snowfest is a snow and ice carving competition, Mrs. Lunsford has been coaching for a pretty long time. Lunsford mentioned there are 4 levels: High School, State, National, and International. Snowfest intakes planning October, and then starts January. You will need to plan for a design where there are no themes, plan for 6 foot by 6 foot by 8 foot. For your supplies you will make your own tools including aluminum saw in coordination with the robotics team and machine trades class. If you want to get involved either contact Lunsford, Sophie Sho, or Allison Lindstrom. Any grade can participate, “younger the better since they can grow their technique, but older is better at visualizing,” Lunsford said. Be okay with the cold and be prepared to dress warm. Lastly, Snowfest starts Thursday January 25, 2024 through Friday January 26, 2024 till about 5 p.m, then there is a banquet.
