Meet Shannon Bartell, second year staffer at MPHS. After graduating from Central Michigan, she decided to pursue a career in teaching after seeing the impact her mother had on students. She gives credit to her mother for inspiring her to pursue her career and giving her hope to achieve her goals.
College was important for Shannon, “Absolutely, college was important.” Not only did college prepare her to teach, but it also prepared her to become an adult.
When asked if she ever thought she’d be a ‘Behavior Interventionist’, she said, “No, I always thought I’d be a PE teacher at Renaissance. Mrs. Willey reached out to me to substitute teach and I became a Behavior Interventionist.”
