Now time to cover our grand finale, Blue and Gold day. This entire past week we have had a series of themes mostly competing against each other but on our last we all united. Blue and Gold day is a day to show our school spirit and come together as a community. The weekend included lots of fun festivities such as an assembly, community parade, the football game, and the homecoming dance. We saw massive participation on this day and incredible enthusiasm from everyone in the community from parents showing up to the homecoming assembly to students going all out at the student section Friday night.
Starting at the assembly students actively participated from our hosts to our broadcasting team, everything was covered. The assembly is a great way to have a little friendly competition but to also show off our many talents within the school. The school had great performances like the MPHS advanced choir, the dance team, cheer, and so much more. Next was the parade following the eventful school day. In the parade there was participation from every end of the spectrum. Not only did we have school participation but we also had clubs and local elementary schools involved. It brought joy to the community from the involvement and the sugar rush after all the candy was thrown off the floats. On top of all the school clubs there also were class floats representing their assigned Disney theme. Towards the end of the night students and community members bundled up and went to the stands to cheer on the varsity football team who were playing Bay City Western, it was a clean victory and exciting game. Despite the cold it was a great community event and a great activity to wrap up the day.
Lastly to wrap up the eventful weekend we cleaned up and put on our nicest outfits. Everyone shared a nice day of pictures with friends and ended it with fun music and dancing. At the beginning of the dance an eventful and lively dance circle was formed and the evening was filled with friends having a fun time, meeting new people, and many spent a sweet night with their significant other. Looking back the week may have been exhausting but in the end it was a blast and a highlight of the year for many students, staff, and community members.
