Gavyn Hug and Lilly King were shocked when they saw their names on the ballot for our 2026 homecoming court, but they quickly became excited when they learned they had won the nomination. “The main reason I’m excited is to go out on the field with my parents. It’s a thing I’ve thought about since middle school”, Gavyn shares. To get some background on who will represent our class this year, I asked them some questions about themselves. Lilly has a passion for running and is a dedicated member of our MPHS Track team. She also has a creative side; she enjoys crafting, especially blanket making. Lilly loves to clean and organize, too. Gavyn likes to spend time outdoors and play sports like golf and skiing, he also enjoys hunting. Gavyns’s lesser-known interest is his extensive Star Wars Lego collection!
Gavyn and Lily both agree that their relationship with God is the most important thing in their lives, a second would be their relationship with each other. When asked about why they believe in serving their school and community Gavyn responded “Even if your school might have policies that you don’t like, you should be helpful so that they can help you in times of need. I scratch your back, you scratch mine”. “That’s well put”, Lilly says back. They both work hard to put this principle into action. Lilly volunteers at her church and youth group, and Gavyn is a big contributor to our GI-Tech center. Lastly, a fun fact about our 2026 class picks: Lilly has an obsession with pigs, and Gavyn is a great singer! With this incredible couples shining personalities, its not secret why we chose them to represent out class. I hope these facts inspire you to go cheer them on this week!
