Orange shirt day is a day to honor indigenous children who were sent to residential schools in canada. Orange shirt day is September 30th the day when children were ripped from their homes. The orange shirt represents a piece taken from a girl named Phylis on her first day at residential school. It’s a day to remember and learn about the history and impact of these schools and all of the lives that were lost.
