Happy World Kindness Day!

World Kindness Day is an inclusive celebration.
World Kindness Day is an inclusive celebration.

World Kindness day is celebrated every year on November 13. It started in 1998 in Tokyo, Japan with the World Kindness Movement. It was established to promote kindness and good will as fundamental values. This year’s goal for world kindness day is to highlight good deeds within the community and to celebrate acts of kindness as a whole. World kindness day is an inclusive celebration for everyone all over the world, everyone everywhere gets to celebrate in their own way. It is a great reminder to be kind to others, yourself, and the world you live in. This year for World Kindness Day, we should focus on being kind to those around us and encouraging them to keep going.

Let’s reinforce the compassion that binds us together. A random act of kindness has a positive effect on the doer and the receiver. If you do a random act of kindness for someone, then you feel good about doing something for them and they feel good because someone cared enough to do something nice for them. A random act of kindness can make someone’s day and it is proven to relieve stress, improve our emotional well being, and even impact our physical health.

Think about who in your life has done something nice for you and try to do something nice for them this world kindness day. Then try to sustain these ideas of world kindness day for more than just a day, make them a part of your every day life.

Show kindness and it will return to you tenfold.
